Natalie du Toit is a true inspiration, a South African athlete who has overcome incredible odds to become a Paralympic champion and a symbol of resilience and determination.

Natalie’s journey began in Cape Town, South Africa, where she was born in 1984. As a young swimmer, she showed immense promise, and her dreams of competing at the highest levels of the sport seemed within reach. However, in 1998, a tragic accident changed the course of her life forever. While riding her scooter to school, Natalie was involved in a collision with a car, resulting in the amputation of her left leg below the knee. This devastating event could have broken the spirit of many, but Natalie refused to let it define her.

Undeterred by her disability, Natalie set her sights on returning to the pool and competing at the Paralympic Games. With unwavering determination and a relentless work ethic, she fought to regain her strength and hone her swimming skills.
